When Did Celebrities Become Gods?

When Did Celebrities Become Gods?

Forgive me if I go into rant mode here, after all it is Monday and I despise Monday’s when I have to be at work!

Something has been on my mind lately, ok more than lately and I feel I need to let it out!

Every time we turn around, a celebrity (or two or three) is in the media for their outrageous shenanigans. You may not think they are outrageous, but I feel they are very inappropriate and sticking their “surgically altered” noses where they don’t belong.  I feel I should clarify “celebrity” before I proceed.

“Celebrity” – one who is overpaid to portray someone other than themselves in a movie or tv show.

When Did Celebrities Become Gods?

When Did Celebrities Become Gods?

Don’t act like your oblivious to what’s been happening. Over the past 4 years, it has become quite obvious that Celebrities think they have some influence over us normal peeps. They have resorted to political campaigns and slander those who don’t believe as they do.

Oh, you think that’s alright?

Watching the Emmy’s, the Oscar’s or even some of the Musical Award shows used to be fun. But something changed. These “celebrities” are taken opportunities at this “supposedly” joyous events to exercise and inflict their personal political opinions!

I think that’s Bullshit! That is not the appropriate place for those type of actions!

Have Their Egos Become So Huge That They Think They Have Influence Over Us?

In some cases, “Yes!”.  These stars think that people, us hard-working folks, idolize them.

Just because they are a good actress, actor, or musician, doesn’t mean that I agree with their values or ethics. In this scenario, any one of them that over steps the boundaries of turning an Awards show into a political agenda needs to be fined and or stripped of their awards. When Did Celebrities Become Gods?

The World is full of critics. We see it every day in the media by newscasters. People are rioting and protesting things they don’t believe in (or just to be part of something and get on the news).  Why do these “celebs” feel they have the right to impose their thoughts on us?

Have They Gone Stark Raving Mad?

My thoughts are they are taking advantage of We the People.

We pay to watch their movies. We even pay to watch their tv shows. But we don’t pay to hear bullshit come out of their mouths, whether deep down we agree with what they are spewing.

The actresses or female musicians have really taken an interest in politics this year. I’m going to put it out there. Some of them dislike hate President Trump. Some actually thought by forcing their opinions on us that those who like him, would start to turn on him.

But what it did, for many, was put a massive distaste in our mouths for the one spewing hate. For others, they gladly joined onto the celebrity’s shirt-tale and got a free ride with the bashing.

I’m inclined to not watch these “fools” anymore on tv! I’m also inclined to find a way to ban them from my Sirius XM radio!

In Short, Shut the Hell Up!

If I want to hear political mumbo jumbo, I’ll turn on the news. I don’t want to see it on the Emmy’s, the Oscar’s, the Music shows or anywhere else but on a NEWS station. And I damn sure as hell don’t want to hear it from an overpaid “Actress/Actor/Musician” who is always beginning us little people to help feed the poor in other Countries!

Just because they are on tv or the big screen, doesn’t mean I want to hear your political opinions. If you want to get political, join up like Arnold Schwarzenegger did. Step up and become a Governor and then people may want to hear your opinions. Maybe then you could do some good for the world outside of the entertainment mainstream.

But until then, keep your mouths shut and quit making an ass of yourself. It’s rather embarrassing from my end.

What Do You Think?

Do you think a boundary has been crossed or are you totally cool with anyone, including “celebs” having their own person agendas on our time!

  1. “A lot of celebrities did, do, and shouldn’t [talk politics],” he told Task & Purpose magazine. “They might buy your CD or watch your movie, but you don’t put food on their table. You don’t pay their bills. A lot of Hollywood is living in a bubble. They’re pretty out of touch with the common person, the everyday guy out there providing for their family.” That was a quote from Mark Wahlberg he at least gets it :).

    1. Oh indeed, this if fabulous! I couldn’t have said it better myself! Marky Mark is definitely one to resonate with. 😉 These celebs that are walking around being all self-righteous and condemning others, need a reality check. The biggest thing that bugs me is that they really DO think they have influence over US! Maybe the weak, but not the strong! Thanks for adding to the convo!

  2. I’m all for people being free to speak their minds, but there’s a time and a place for everything. Political speeches at awards shows are completely annoying. I rarely watch those anymore, anyway. Too long and drawn out. Skipah’s quote from Mark Walberg is perfect. Many rich celebrities have no idea (or have forgotten) what it’s like to live in the real world. Fame is no indicator of intelligence, either.

    1. I couldn’t agree with you more, Debbie. I used to love watching the award shows. But now it’s all about politics, which side you’re on, and race. Disgustng.

Waddya Think?
